About the MOSS and MOSS TENTS trademarks

The registered trademarks “MOSS” and “MOSSTENTS” owned by our company in Japan were originally registered in the United States in the 1970s by MOSS TENT WORKS, led by the late Bill Moss. These marks are based on the handwritten signature of Marilyn Moss, the wife of Bill Moss, and have long been recognized as well-known trademarks with deep historical and archival value.

At the request of the Moss family, our company exclusively grants permission to use these registered trademarks in Japan and Asia only for specific products that embody the artistic works created by the late Bill Moss and their creative spirit. We do not authorize the use of these distinctive “MOSS” marks for any other products or services beyond those specifically approved by us.

Recently, within Japan, there have been cases of campsites or camping-related products using “MOSS” logos that differ in design from the authentic and stylized MOSS trademarks shown below. Please note that any such use—even if it involves outdoor or camping-related goods using the word “MOSS”—has no relation whatsoever to SOLO STAR JAPAN INC. or MOSS JAPAN INC., the official license holders. We kindly ask that you take care to avoid confusion.
